This is not required reading. Most of this info is presented as you fill out the form for joining.
- The form that you fill out to join includes a "mini-profile" of about 50 words (like a personal ad). It also includes a more detailed (one-page) "biographical profile" form that other members will have access to. You decide what contact information to provide to other members. Nearly all members provide an e-address and some also give a phone number and/or postal address. If you wish, you can upload one or two photos (or send them by post).
- When we have processed your membership application, we'll notify you by e-mail of your member number and password for logging onto the website Member Zone. There you can peruse mini-profiles, biographical profiles and photos (81% of members have a photo), which are searchable by age range, location, other variables, and keywords.
- The biographical profile allows you to contact the other member directly if you so choose, and contains a good basis for initiating a conversation, with info on the member's interests, hobbies, preferred reading and so on.
- At the beginning of each month we e-mail you a Newsletter (also posted online) and a listing of mini-profiles of the members who joined during the preceding month. Of course, you can visit the website Member Zone any time to check on new members or all members. The Newsletter provides a forum for member discussion and a place where members can announce get-togethers for members in their area.
